apologies and compliments
03.12.13 | 8:23 pm

tonight was my last linguistics class and it was perfect. we spent two hours speaking about apologies (what constitutes as one, how people phrase them to mean different things, how people receive them) and compliments (when is it appropriate to give/receive them, how different cultures react to them). linguistics makes me so excited. analyzing language and how people manipulate it to get what they want and the different ways it affects people is one of the most interesting things in the world.

i am very thankful that i get to study something i find so fascinating.

sometimes i worry about that i'm in the wrong place, that i shouldn't be here and that i'm aimless and don't know what i'm doing... but then there are days like today and everything feels perfect.
