after such a shitty beginning of the week, it turns out i made an 89 on a midterm i literally thought i failed, i got the summer job i wanted (graduate assistantship that pays $3000 for 6 weeks' worth of work), found out i'm in the running for some sort of graduate student award, my mom visited me here, etc etc, basically a lot of good things.

i'm lucky.

i don't think i'm going to write a thesis. i think i'll have two grad classes next semester, maintain matriculation for an hour, teach two courses, and then study for my oral exams so maybe i will pass with distinction.

we'll see, we'll see, we'll see.

i get to spend a whole month in colorado at the end of the summer.

is it too early to start a four month countdown?
