wood award

i found out yesterday that i won the Wood Award for basically being an excellent graduate student in English. essentially, it gets awarded to someone who has academic excellence, great rapport with the rest of the program, and collegiality. it comes with a cash award, too.
i teared up a little bit. i didn't even know i was in the running for this award. it just feels like a nice little accomplishment.
