i took off my nail polish tonight without the intent of repainting. my nails have been polished nearly always for the last year or two, so now it's odd, perhaps refreshing, to see the gradient of color beneath, to see the half circles rising like the sun - a sight i haven't seen or even sought for so long i can't remember. the grooves run up and down, revealing my deficiencies, but it isn't making me as anxious as it normally would. and perhaps i could, again, get used to this.
