i feel very lucky at the moment

i haven't felt capable of being so earnest and kind and forthcoming with someone in a very, very long time.

i've held back so much for so long that this feels strangely drastic, interacting with someone in this way. i'm freely giving compliments, thanking him for being open with me, because he so freely does the same, without any shame or holding back whatsoever.

this is, i know, very temporary. but even knowing that, it feels very worth it.
