today we had to go to the funeral home because my 89-year-old great grandfather died yesterday and his funeral is tomorrow. i asked my mom about him and my great grandmother, about how long they'd been married.

70 years. seventy years, they were together. she told me that one night, when my mamaw was seventeen, she crawled out of her bedroom window and ran off with him.

how terribly, incredibly romantic--

how i wish to have that in every way.
